Riding Lesson

Here are some pictures of me at riding lessons. The horses name is Obie (OBee)... She was really sweet. I learned that you have squeeze the tendon to make thier hoof go up so you can clean the hoof, how to put the halter on, how to tie the horse to a pole, how brush it, how to put the saddle and saddle pad on, and lots of other stuff. I really liked it.

Catherine...

You are SO pretty! I love that last picture of you with Obie. I can't believe how grown up you're getting.(= That's so exciting that you're getting to take riding lessons...I always wanted to, but never got to do it.(=

Did you actually get to ride Obie during the first lesson, or mostly just learn how to take care of the horse?

Anita asks, "Why do you need to touch the horse's tummy?" I had to touch the horses tummy to brush it so it will be clean. I had to make it was clean before putting on the saddle. If there is dirt or stickers on its belly then it would hurt the horse when I tighten the cinch.

Cody asks, "How do you squeeze the horse's tendon?"
The tendon is on the back of the horses leg, close to the hoof. You use one hand to squeeze on either side of the tendon and then use your other hand to grab the horses hoof once it puts it up.

Nini asks, "Do you like to play with Obie?" Yes, I did. I liked getting to walk it around the stable. I liked putting the saddle on her. She was very gentle and still.

Lisa asks, "Have you fallen from the horse?" No, I have never fallen from a horse. I didn't actually get to ride her. During this lesson I got to brush, saddle, put the halter on and then learned how to get on and off correctly. I hope during my next lesson I will get to ride her.

Thanks for asking about my horse riding lesson. I was very fun to answer all of your questions.
